Virgil Kindred        

      Homedale – Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Homedale for Virgil Kindred, 81, who died Aug. 9 in a Caldwell hospital. Rev. Gary Shoemaker, pastor of the Homedale Christian Church, officiated.

      Mrs. Lois Cole was organist and accompanist. Duets, “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and “Beautiful Garden of Prayer,” were sung by Lillian Troxel and Mrs. Cole.

      Casket bearers were Bill Morrison, David Lewis, Rodger Nash, Marvin Hill, Ed Fisher and James Itano. Interment was in Wilder cemetery.

      He was born Dec. 31, 1898, in Lawson, Mo., to James and Anna Kindred. He married Clara Mae Morrison on July 29, 1933, in Olathe, Kans., He worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Kansas for several years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in July, 1942, and received his honorable discharge in February, 1943.

      They moved to the Homedale area in 1948. He was a partner in M&L Implement Co. He later worked as a custodian for the Homedale School District for ten years. He was a member of the Homedale Christian Church.

      He is survived by his wife of Homedale; a brother and two sisters of Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
