      Jose Solis

      Rosary devotions for Jose Artemio Solis, 72, Parma Route 2, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, at a Nyssa, Ore., nursing home, will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Father Arturo Escobedo and Father Maurcio Medina at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Parma. Interment will follow at the Parma Cemetery.

      He was born Oct. 16, 1910, at Los Auses, Mexico, where he was reared and educated. He married Severina Santoyo in November of 1928 in Silao, Mexico, and they made their home there until coming to the United States in 1959. They moved to Homedale in 1958 and then to Riverbank, Calif., in 1959, where he worked for Hunts Inc. He retired in 1976 and moved to Parma in 1982, where he has since resided. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

      He is survived by his wife of Parma; two sons, Tony and Art of Parma; nine daughters, Lupe Gonzales, Amalia Reyes and Micki Forsdick, all of Parma, Loreto Hernandez of Leon, Mexico, Antonia Mojica and Juanita Kinoshita, Bakersfield, Calif., Socorro Delgado of McAllen, Texas, Severina Haws of Gooding, and Blanca Lee of Boise; two brothers, Odelon and Dionicio, both of Silao, Mex.; four sisters, Erlinda Navarro and Maria Salazar, both of Silao, Trinidad Torres of McAllen, and Manuela Diaz of Reedley, Calif., 53 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons-in-law.

 

Severino Santoyo Solis

            Severina Solis was born February 11, 1913 in Leon, Mexico, and died June 3, 2003 while residing in Parma.
