            John Marcus Shenk

             John Marcus Shenk, 75, passed away from a heart attack Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in Burns, Oregon. A memorial service will be held May 6 at Mt. View Church of the Nazarene on Ustick and Batt Corner Rd. at 11am. There will be a potluck following the memorial for friends and family. We hope you’ll come and share your memories.

            John was born October 20, 1929 in Nampa, Idaho. He moved to Burns, Oregon and has resided there approximately 35 years. His occupation carried a title of “Old Time Cow Boss.” He was married to Joella Shenk for 40 years. They had five children together. Later in life he married Rosetta Shenk.

            John is survived by his children; Naida Haumann of San Bernardino, CA, Charles Shenk of Bend, OR, Ivy Nelson, Baker City, OR, Johnella Yuste of Klamath Falls, OR and Mark Shenk of Baker City, OR; brothers, Art, Bill, Dennis all of Adrian, OR and Dick Shenk of Homedale; his sisters, Adean MacKenzie of Rockville, OR, Cindy Mavey of Homedale, Christy Smith of Nampa; lots of nieces and nephews and several grandchildren.

            John was preceded in death by his parents and two wives.

Joella J. Ivey Shenk

            Joella Shenk was born September 2, 1926 in Wyoming, daughter of Clarence and Ada Ivey. She died October 16, 2001 in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
