           Laura Burley

Laura E.(Hall) Jordan Bouillez Burley passed away on November 7, 2008 just three and one-half months short of her 100th birthday.

Laura was born February 24, 1909 in Monroeton, Pennsylvania to Charles and Blanche Hall. At an early age her family came out West, traveling via a train through Canada and finally settled in the Marsing area. She had three sisters, Mildred, Clara, and Agnes; six brothers, Albert, Curtis, Roy, Leland, Lester, and Peter. Peter was severely handicapped. It was Laura's duty as an older sister to watch over him. She cared for him and loved him deeply until he died at a very early age. During her teen years she worked away from home to help her family. At age 18 she met and married Floyd E. Jordan and over the next 20 years they had three sons and eight daughters. Floyd died in 1950 from lung cancer. She later married Ralph Bouillez and after his passing in 1965, she said she would not marry again. However at age 69 she married one last time to William Burley who passed away in 1994.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, sisters, three husbands; three daughters - Vera Easteppe, Theda Nix, Pearl Rosdanl; and one son, Laurance Jordan. Also preceding her in death was stepson, Jim Burley.

She is survived by her children: Clara Brooks, Norma Downen, Lewanna Dorman, Carol Dash, Duane Jordan, Lyle Jordan, and Patricia Kanno. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Roger Burley, Dean Burley, Neal Burley, Dick Burley, and Darlene Kelly. She had 35 grandchildren, four preceded her in death. She has many great grandchildren - just too numerous to count.

The family celebrates her life as a wonderful mother who loved her children dearly. She raised her eleven children during the depression when she had very little to give, but she gave us the most important things of all -- her love and her prayers.
