Ross Albert Evans

            Ross Albert Evans passed away in Ontario, Oregon on May 29, 2006. He was born June 16, 1918 in Robin, Idaho, the son of Willis Vern and Mina Lavern Ross Evans.

            Ross grew up in Robin, Idaho on land farmed by his father, and continued the family avocation on a farm west of Homedale, Idaho for nearly 45 years. He left many friends and relatives in the area. Ross was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific arena aboard the aircraft carrier, “USS Makin Island.” He was an avid member of the American Legion and the I.O.O.F. while he lived in Homedale.

            Ross was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Ruth Evans, Vera Laverne Stansell, and Norma Leone Hornberger.

            He is survived by a sister, Faye Alberta Kelly of Nebraska; two sons, Mark Evans of Boise, Idaho, and Neal Evans of Ontario, Oregon; three daughters, Nina Nelson of Milwaukie, Oregon, Lynn Vona of Issaquah, Washington, and Ruth Hannon of Garland, Texas; ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were conducted at 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale.

            Mary Herrera was born in 1926 and is currently living in Boise.
