Lester M. Buck
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, for Lester M.
Buck, 82, Homedale, Rev. Royce Wright, Treasure Valley Christian
Center, Caldwell, officiating. Masonic Rites were
performed by Silver City Lodge 13 A.F.&A.M. Homedale. Interment followed in
Wilder Cemetery. Mr. Buck died Friday, March 24,
at his home in Homedale.
Lester was born July 23, 1912, at
Sacramento, CA. a son of Alex and Clara Olson Buck, where
he was reared and educated. Lester married Margaret Erhardt on Oct. 3, 1936, at Sacramento.
He worked for the California Highway Patrol for 14 years, living at
King
City and later at Placerville. He was in the military service in
1944-45.
In 1952 they moved to Caldwell
where Lester began farming. In 1954 they moved to Homedale, and continued
farming there until 1964. They moved to Oreana and managed the Triangle Ranch
for seven years. In 1971 they moved to Emmett and Lester worked for Black Canyon
Irrigation District. In 1984 they moved back to Homedale and Lester ran a motor
route for the Press-Tribune for 9 years. In 1993 he again worked at the Triangle
Ranch.
Lester joined the Masons on May 18, 1939 and was a Past Master and member
of the Silver City Masonic Lodge #13, A.F.&A.M., Homedale Royal Arch Masons,
Caldwell, El Korah Shrine, Boise,
and a Past Patron and member of Silver Star Chapter #83, O.E.S., Homedale.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, of Homedale; three daughters, Mary
Ellen and Anthony “Sandy” Milne Jr. of North Highlands,
CA., Carole Ann Schlegel, Lesta and Theodore Chadez, all of Homedale; one
brother Gordon Buck, of Palo Alto, CA.; 11 grandchildren; five great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Lowell and a brother Russell.

Margaret Buck
Funeral services for Margaret Ann Buck, 84, of Homedale, who died
Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at her home, will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, June 3,
1996, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale. Burial will follow at the Wilder Cemetery,
Wilder, Idaho.
Mrs. Buck was born October 14, 1911, at
Sacramento,
California, a daughter of Edwin
and Bessie Logan Erhardt. She was reared and educated in Sacramento. She married Lester M. Buck on
October 3, 1936, at Sacramento.
Lester and Margaret moved to Caldwell
in 1952. In 1954, the couple moved to Homedale where they farmed. In 1964 they
moved to Oreana and managed the Triangle Ranch for seven years. In 1971, they
moved to Emmett and, in 1984, they returned to Homedale.
Margaret was an independent woman who supported all the needs of her
family in her own quiet way. She enjoyed traveling but her greatest joy in life
were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #83.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ellen and her husband Anthony
“Sandy” Milne Jr. of North Highlands,
California; Carole Ann Schlegel and Lesta and her
husband Theodore Chadez, all of Homedale; a brother Logan Erhardt of San
Lorenzo, California; a sister Lydia Thompson of Sacramento, California; eleven
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her husband Lester in March of 1995 and a son Lowell.
The family suggests that memorials be given to the Treasure Valley
Christian Center, P.O. Box 1122, Caldwell, Idaho 83606 or the Benevolent Fund,
c/o Order of Eastern Star #83, Box 125, Homedale, Idaho 83628. Friends may call
Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
